This Cookie Policy explains how BDP Timepieces ("BDP," "we" or "us") uses cookies and similar technologies on bdpwatches.com (the "Site"), what choices you have, and how to change them. Read it together with our Privacy Policy.
1. What cookies and similar technologies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device through your browser. Some are set by the website you are visiting ("first-party cookies") and some are set by other companies whose services the website uses ("third-party cookies"). Similar technologies include pixels and tags, which are small pieces of code that report that a page was viewed or an action was taken, and browser storage, which lets a site remember small pieces of information. In this Policy, "cookies" covers all of these.
Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser. Persistent cookies stay on your device until they expire or you delete them.
2. How we ask for your consent
When you first visit the Site, a cookie banner lets you accept all cookies, reject all non-essential cookies, or choose by category. Strictly necessary cookies are always on because the Site cannot work properly without them. Analytics and marketing cookies are off until you turn them on, and the Site does not load the tools that set them before you give consent. Rejecting is as easy as accepting, and the Site works the same either way.
You can change your mind at any time with the link at the bottom of every page. When you withdraw consent, we stop loading those tools from that point on. To remove cookies that were already set, delete them in your browser settings as described in Section 6.
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information, and we keep marketing cookies off for that browser.
3. Categories of cookies we use
Strictly necessary
These make the Site work and keep it secure: delivering pages, protecting against abuse, and remembering your cookie choices. They do not require consent and cannot be switched off in the banner.
Analytics
With your consent, these help us understand how visitors find and use the Site, such as which pages and collections are viewed most, how long visits last and where visitors arrive from. We use this information in aggregate to improve the Site and plan which watches to develop.
Marketing
With your consent, these let advertising and social media partners, such as Meta (Facebook and Instagram), recognize your browser, measure whether our ads lead to visits, sign-ups or deposits, and show BDP ads to you or to people with similar interests on other websites and apps. Under some state privacy laws this can count as "sharing" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, which you can always decline.
4. Cookies and technologies on the Site
The table below lists what the Site uses or may use, by category. Analytics and marketing tools load only after you consent to that category. We will keep this table up to date when we add or remove a provider.
| Name or technology | Provider | Purpose | Category | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| bdp_consent | BDP (first party) | Remembers your cookie choices so we do not ask on every page | Strictly necessary | 12 months |
| Hosting and security cookies | Vercel | Deliver pages, balance traffic and protect against abuse | Strictly necessary | Session or short term |
| Font requests | Fontshare, Google Fonts | Deliver the Site's typefaces. These requests share your IP address and browser details with the provider but do not set cookies used by BDP | Strictly necessary | Per request |
| Checkout cookies | Stripe | Set on Stripe's own checkout page, only if you place a deposit, for payment security and fraud prevention | Strictly necessary | Set by Stripe |
| _ga, _ga_* | Google Analytics | Distinguish visitors and sessions to produce aggregate usage statistics | Analytics | Up to 2 years |
| _fbp, _fbc and the Meta Pixel | Meta Platforms | Measure the results of our Facebook and Instagram ads and build ad audiences | Marketing | Up to 90 days |
Third-party providers process the information they collect under their own privacy policies, including Google's Privacy Policy, Meta's Privacy Policy and Stripe's Privacy Policy. Google also offers a browser add-on to opt out of Google Analytics.
5. What these technologies collect
Depending on the category you allow, cookies may collect your IP address, device and browser type, pages you view, links you click, the page that referred you, approximate location derived from your IP address, and whether you joined the Founder's Circle or placed a deposit. We do not put your name, email address or card details into analytics or marketing cookies. How we use and protect this information is explained in our Privacy Policy.
6. How to control cookies in your browser
In addition to our cookie settings, you can block or delete cookies through your browser. Most browsers let you refuse all cookies, accept only first-party cookies, or delete cookies when you close the browser. Instructions are available for Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge. You can also limit ad personalization in your Meta ad preferences and Google ad settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may cause parts of the Site, such as checkout or forms, to work incorrectly.
7. Changes to this Policy
We will update this Policy when we change the cookies we use, and we will change the effective date above. If we add a new category of non-essential cookies, we will ask for your consent again.
